FILM FESTIVAL

This event recognizes independent filmmakers for their enormous contributions to the industry. In 2007, the Festival honored Warrington Hudlin, best known as the producer of the popular feature films House Party, Boomerang, and Bebe’s Kids. The films were screened in the auditorium of the Forsyth County Central Library, 660 West Fifth Street, Winston-Salem.  Coordinated by Kathryn Mobley.

 

Dear Artists:
Thank you for inquiring about the 2009 National Black Theatre Festival®™ (NBTF) to be held August 3-August 8, 2009. Below is information on how to submit materials for the various performance components of the Festival. Please be aware of all deadline dates because they differ for each component.

2009 NBTF SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

DEADLINE FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS: May 31, 2009 at 5 p.m. in NBTF Office.
The National Black Film Festival honors film artists in recognition of their enormous contributions to the film industry. African Americans have long made a profound change in the landscape of cinematic expression. Many of these changes are due to the hard work and dedication of African American artists behind the camera.

In order for NBTF to notify you promptly, each submission package must include the following:

*A formal letter of introduction clearly stating the following:
Name of presenter, address, city, state, zip, office numbers (phone/fax), email address

*A VHS or DVD of the complete play submitted to NBTF office

*Film synopsis

*Printed reviews of film. Identify the publication (s). Send copies only

*Highlight of celebrity performers
