The International Colloquium is a collaborative effort between the National Black Theatre Festival®, Winston-Salem State University, and Black Theatre Network (BTN). The theme for the 2011 Colloquium was Black Theater and The Critical Canyon: A Call to the Culture Bearers. Harry J. Elam, Jr. was the keynote speaker. The four-day forum, facilitated by international theatre professionals and academicians, focused on Black ownership of the critical discourse of and about Black artistic expressions, with particular emphasis on the Theatre.
